Crunchy muesli with extra crunch

Granola with sunflower oil

Palm oil is the most commonly used vegetable oil and consumption has increased enormously in recent years. However, in order to produce it, the rainforest is cleared and so many animals and people lose their habitat.

At Verival we are aware of the negative effects of palm oil and do not use it. We focus on sustainability and therefore use sunflower oil, more precisely high-oleic sunflower oil. This is an oil that is very rich in oleic acid and can therefore be heated to high temperatures without any problems. This allows our Crunchy to be baked so nice and crispy.

Frequently asked questions

How do you use granola?

Granola can be used in many different ways. It is most often enjoyed as a breakfast ingredient with milk, yogurt or plant-based alternatives. It is also ideal as a topping for smoothie bowls, ice cream or fresh fruit. Granola can also be used in baking recipes, such as granola bars or cookies. Its crunchy texture and sweet taste make it a versatile ingredient for many dishes.

Is granola really healthy?

Granola can be a healthy option, but it depends a lot on the ingredients used. Traditionally, granola contains whole grain oats, nuts, seeds and dried fruits that are rich in fiber, protein and healthy fats. However, many commercial granolas can contain high levels of sugar and unhealthy fats. Therefore, pay attention to the list of ingredients and choose variants that contain little or no added sugar and healthy oils. Homemade granola allows you to control the ingredients and can therefore be a particularly healthy choice.

What is the difference between muesli and granola?

The main difference between muesli and granola is preparation and texture. Muesli is a raw mixture of cereal flakes, nuts, seeds and dried fruits, often served with milk or yogurt. Granola, on the other hand, is baked and usually contains honey or syrup and oil, which gives it its crunchy texture. Baking creates a caramelized, sweet taste that distinguishes granola from muesli.

When is granola ready?

Granola is ready when it is evenly golden brown and crispy. The exact baking time can vary depending on the recipe, but is usually between 20 and 30 minutes at a temperature of around 150-180°C (300-350°F). It's important to stir the granola every 10 minutes while baking so it browns evenly and doesn't burn. Once baked, the granola should cool completely before storing in an airtight container to preserve its crunch.
