A healthy breakfast is the best way for children to start the day. A varied and exciting morning awaits kindergarten children, and they can prepare well for it with an ideal breakfast for children. After a night's sleep, breakfast replenishes the body's energy stores and ensures that the muscles and brain are switched on.
That's why children's breakfast buffets should include complex carbohydrates and lots of fibre in the form of whole grains. Children who don't eat breakfast can't concentrate properly or think well.
Children need to enjoy breakfast if they are to eat it without protest or persuasion. And it doesn't have to be lavish. But how do you spread a good mood in the morning? That's right – with a hearty, healthy breakfast.

Is there an ideal breakfast for children?
The ideal breakfast for children is a combination of whole grain cereals, fresh fruit and dairy products. Oats are a real source of energy for children. In the morning, children have only small reserves of glycogen, the form in which glucose is stored in the liver and muscles. It is therefore particularly important that they replenish the energy stores that have been depleted during the night.
In general, a warm oat porridge with milk, nuts, raisins and fresh fruit is recommended for breakfast. Oat flakes are therefore the first choice for even the youngest children. Oats contain twice as much protein (around 24%) as other grains and thus help the brain and body to develop healthily.
Our children's brand Yanick & Fee offers a selection of other balanced, nutritious organic products with low sugar content and made from whole grains. There are chocolatey and fruity cereals for breakfast as well as a berry crunchy with greatly reduced sugar content.
In collaboration with nutrition experts, we have therefore developed children's products that either contain no added sugar at all or have a 30-50% lower sugar content than conventional children's breakfast cereals.
Hot breakfast for kindergarten children
Oat flakes are little superheroes and provide the perfect breakfast before kindergarten. Just a small portion of oats or porridge a day brings a huge portion of health and performance to children's breakfast plates.
Porridge is quick and easy to prepare. Oat flakes are quickly boiled up with milk or water to make an easily digestible breakfast that gives children long-lasting strength and energy.
Additional porridge toppings – such as fresh fruit, berries, nuts, cranberries, dates, maple syrup or honey – add the final touch. Porridge is a light, gentle meal that does not put unnecessary strain on a child's stomach.
Oats provide the body with important silicon, magnesium and iron. This means that they also help to build the muscles and nerves of growing children.
Oats are rich in minerals, vitamins and amino acids. Above all, oats provide your children with sufficient vitamin B. In short, oats are an essential part of the breakfast table. With our breakfast products, it never gets boring at the breakfast table.
We offer a wide range of balanced and healthy children's products. We particularly recommend our unique organic cocoa-banana porridge for kindergarten children.
Children who eat a warm meal in the morning get enough energy for the whole day. It is very difficult for the body to utilise food in its raw state; when it is cooked and warm, it is much easier for our organism to absorb nutrients.
The nutrient-rich VERIVAL Kinder porridge with no added sugar is therefore ideal as a warm start to the day and is prepared in just 3 minutes.

Don't force breakfast on your children
Some parents need a great deal of persuasion to convince their little ones that you should never leave the house on an empty stomach.
You should always have a snack: a sip of milk, some fruit or a cup of cocoa. But no one should be forced to eat.
We are convinced of the importance of a healthy breakfast for children. Eating should be fun and this should be conveyed to even the youngest at the breakfast table.
With our children's products, everything revolves around the cheeky siblings Yanick and Fee. Their funny adventures in the Tyrolean mountains put you in a good mood – and who wouldn't want to enjoy the same breakfast as the two main characters on the packaging?
Healthy snacks for kindergarten
A balanced breakfast is just as important for a successful day at kindergarten as a snack that is not only tasty but also healthy.
Parents should pack their children a varied and healthy snack for kindergarten: a healthy sandwich, fruit or finely chopped vegetables.
And don't forget the drink. When it comes to bread, the rule is: cut thickly and top thinly – ideally with cheese, sausage, ham or cream cheese.
Regular meals and a healthy breakfast are extremely important for children
Our common sense and countless nutrition guides tell us that regular meals and a healthy breakfast are very important for our children.
This provides a lasting boost to the nutrient reserves of growing children, which in turn helps to prevent cravings for sweets as early as mid-morning. Children should stay away from sweet, unhealthy snacks. Of course, this is easier said than done. But as a parent, it's important to keep an eye on things and be mindful.
That's why VERIVAL sought advice from representatives of both ‘parties’ when creating the recipes for the children's breakfast products (porridge, granola, muesli): on the one hand, extensive scientific input from nutrition experts and, on the other hand, practical tastings by children aged 6-10.
‘This enabled us to ensure that the products contain only as little sugar as necessary, but still clearly meet the taste of children,’ says Wolfgang Fojtl.
