Our delicious mueslis , crunchies , Bircher mueslis and porridges are at home in the idyllic community of Langkampfen, Tyrol. Inspired by the beauty of the surrounding mountains and nature, we want to carry a piece of it out into the whole world with our products. Would you like to get to know our place of origin? – Then you have come to the right place, because our colleague Sarah reveals the most beautiful hiking trails in Langkampfen and the surrounding area!
Hiking trail 1: Pendling
The first hiking trail leads you to the Kufsteiner Hausberg Pendling. For Sarah, it is clear that everyone who lives in the Kufstein area must have been on this mountain at least once in their life! Commuting is a popular excursion destination, as there are two different hiking trails, but both are also suitable for beginners or families.
The first route starts in Thiersee at the Schneeberg, and the ascent to the summit takes only 1 1/2 hours from here. For those who prefer to be comfortable, there is also the forest path, which leads over the Kalaalm, as a second option. However, if you are looking for a small challenge, you should venture through the forest, up the steeper path. (However, there may still be a lot of snow here in May, making the hike a bit of an adventure.)
No matter which route, the ascent is always worthwhile, because the view at the summit is breathtakingly beautiful. You can get there, sit very well for a few hours, and enjoy the view over all of Kufstein and the surrounding area. In addition, there is a traditional mountain hut with the Pendlinghaus, where you can refresh yourself with delicious dishes.
Hiking trail 2: Emperor's ascent
Another very popular destination, not only for the locals but, of course, also for tourists, is the imperial ascent in Kufstein! Here you will find yourself in the middle of nature – rightly so, the place was voted the "most beautiful place in Austria" by an ORF show in 2016. The special thing about the Emperor's ascent is that you not only have a hiking trail at your disposal but can also choose from a wide variety of routes. So, it's perfect for a leisurely day of hiking with family or friends 😊
Of course, there are also notable stops here, such as the famous Tischofer Cave, the Antonius Chapel, and several inns where you can eat very well.
Hiking Trail 3: Hechtsee Tour
As a last tip, Sarah opted for the Hechtsee tour. The Hechtsee is located exactly on the border between Kufstein and D-Kiefersfelden. If you set a fast pace while walking, you can circumnavigate the lake within half an hour. If this is not enough, there is also the possibility for the 3-lakes hike (Hechtsee, Egelsee, Längsee/Pfrillsee), which takes about 2 1/2 hours.
The hike is an absolute must for lovers of the water because here the path is simply the destination! In summer, you can take a short break on the narrow path next to the lake and cool off with a dip in the water. Either you walk right next to the lake, or you can opt for the path in the middle of the beautiful forest.
